Venting Some Bile

The title will have given all of you a bit of warning so I'm going to plunge into what is pissing me off since last night when J came home.

First off J tells me that the commander wanted to know my due date.  Okay no big deal.  They battery is slated for NTC, yes J already went in January with his old battalion, in August just after I deliver.  Oh not because the commander thinks that J should be left behind.  No the commander is putting us on the list.  What list?  The list that the Sergeant Major has so that he can be a plague upon your door step as soon as you get home from the hospital.  Yes, we are going to get a visit from the SGM.  I really don't want to be entertaining the man while bleeding heavy from birthing a baby.  I have endometriosis, adenomyosis, a 9cm ovarian cyst and a fibroid on my uterus.  I'm going to just want to sit there in jammie on a towel to help prevent ruining furniture if I bleed through.  I'm not going to want to serve coffee, cake, tea or cookies to someone that just basically wants to do a health and welfare inspection but wants to call it another name.  I won't really want to be seeing anyone that doesn't bring me gift of a casserole or housework offers.  Is that so wrong?

I swear if I have to see the SGM he better be bringing Merry Maids along with him.

Second thing that pissed me off is that J has been notified from the FRG that they would like me to take a spot that is open.  They offered it to me last meeting and I said no.  I'm a high risk pregnancy due in July I told them.  During J's new comer brief the crew on duty said that they have an opening for me as village mayor.  Again NO!

But it really burns my ass that I barely know the FRG and last night in my email, yes they have my contact information and said they would get in touch with me to see if I need anything, and have invited me to the baby shower for the wife of a high ranking NCO who is due for a girl in July.  What am I chopped liver?  Where is my baby shower?  They all know when I'm due.  Where is my team that is going to take care of my needs.  Oh wait, my spouse isn't a high ranking NCO or officer so yeah I get nothing....just like I did at JBLM after giving them six years of my "free time" to the FRG I got nothing.

I still get emails from my old FRG who still hasn't realized, though I write them back each email, I moved and am due in July.  Nor have they sent me my yearly appreciation for volunteer service award that is giving out each April.  I'm sure they miss my input, cookies and the blankets I made for the wounded warrior project as I was one of the few to actually show up to the meetings.  But really I'm ticked off.  I ended up throwing my own baby shower.

Now some wife of a high ranking NCO is going to get a baby shower on the FRG dime?  Someone I maybe met once and don't remember her at all.  There has been just one FRG meeting since I moved here.  I gave out my contact information willingly to several of the members because they looked like they would be helpful in me getting to know new people and finding my way around the new duty station.  Not one phone call.  Just an invite to give someone a gift and celebrate their baby.  Mind you I would love to go if I weren't so tired, breathless, having cramps for the past month and new the lady well enough to feel comfortable going but I'm not one that even likes parties to begin with.

There I vented.  Have at it.

Computer Issues

Looks like my NVIDIA card is fried in my desktop computer.  Right now I am using my husband's laptop just to post something today to let all of you know about this past weekend.

Baby Hiccup is kicking me a lot while I'm trying to type up this post.

Baby shower went well.  Had some photos to share but they are on my desktop.  I had just save all other photos the day before my anatomy scan to the external drive.  This means I can't share baby shower photos until I replace the video card.  I talked about that with J, since I don't use my desktop for gaming I can just get a cheap replacement video card before we move in two weeks.  But I do worry that with it going into storage for quite a while that the desktop might become further damaged.  Thinking I'll just wait and hook J's laptop up to my work station after I dismantle the tower for packing.

So for the next few weeks posting to my blog will probably be scant as I begin to take things off of the wall and pre pack them before the movers show up.  I will try to post from the road trip East if I have adequate signal.

I might even have a change to post some baby shower photos before long as a friend was taking photos at the party.  I just need to attach my external drive to J's computer and down load them to there.

That is if I remember.  Ugh, baby brain is getting so bad.  I have to basically chant to myself or even out loud what I need to do later in the day for appointments.  Yesterday I went to almost a panic thinking it was a week later in the month than it is and that I was already running out of time to get inventory done.

More later when I get used to J's laptop and get some photos to share.

Weekend Blurr

J actually had a four day weekend this weekend.  Well okay it started out that way but we had a bit of work in-between of which since I'm really tired I didn't mind him having to go for a bit to work.

Friday, wow I really can't remember what happened Friday.  Is that a problem?  No I think not.

Saturday we managed to get in a little shopping at the PX and Commissary.  J got his Taylor ham pork roll from the commissary which was nice because this way I didn't have to order it for him on line for Valentine's Day.  Usually that is where I have to get it.  If you've been to Jersey you might just have had Taylor ham and you'll know why he loves it so much.

Saturday afternoon he received a phone call from one of his soldiers.  She is med boarding because she had fibromyalgia.  I can understand how she feels with the pain and fatigue.  Somehow she ended up on the staff duty list.  There is no way with fibromyalgia a soldier can pull a 24 hour shift and stay awake too.  J and one of his other soldiers split the remaining 12 hours of her shift so she could go back to her barracks for rest.  J took the first 7 hours leaving his other soldier the last 5 hours as that is what they had agreed upon.

Sunday I went shopping for a few party favors and decorations for my baby shower.  I swear throwing my own shower is getting expensive and I'm trying to go as cheap as possible.  I know I'll have racked up at least a $500 bill with food, drinks, favors and decorations by the time that day is over.  Will the guest appreciate it?  I hope so because I'm dog tired today.

Monday I went shopping for the flowers for the tables for the baby shower.  After shopping J took me out to a local chowder house to celebrate Valentine's day a bit late.  I was fine with that since the place and idea were mine to begin with.

After lunch we headed home so I could start making the centerpieces.
These are just a few of the centerpieces that I made yesterday.  I tried to stick with neutral colors but yet spring time as by the time the shower rolls around the gender may or may not be known.  I'm still on the fence about finding out.

On the bump front:  still can't be seen from a standing position.  Baby Hiccup decided to move to the left side yesterday and has so far stayed there.  My nipples are on fire and hurt so bad that I hold them and make keening noises.  Wishing there was an anesthetic I could apply topically to them.
