Eily seems to now have a favorite book. Shake It Up Baby by Karen Katz is her go to book when she wants lap time with Mama. As of today she can: touch her nose, rub her tummy, hit a drum, shake a different rattle than the one in the book and so on all upon prompt from readings in the book. I'm so very proud of her.
New things she has said or says a lot more often:
Daddy Leaving
OK
Donut
Done
Color
Kray (she is trying to say crayon and points to them)
Nana and Banana which refer to her lovey toy of which she named banana
She loves to dance to country and 80's music which is done daily.
Legos...she plays with those daily and is building upwards quite well now. She had some issues before with getting the pressure to make them stick well. These aren't the mega blox.
One of her new favorite food is fish; she likes fish sticks but real fish is better. She loved the fish that Daddy ordered at Red Lobster the other night. She turned up her nose at the chicken breast we ordered for her. She doesn't like shellfish. Well it took me years to acquire that taste too.
As for eating with utensils. She can make short work of applesauce with two num num dippers, one for each hand. With a metal fork or a spoon she can dig into most anything that is cut down to size as well. It doesn't mean it will all stay on her plate; we are working on that. But yes we do feed her off of dinner ware now and not just the tray. She does drink from a cup, sometimes with a straw and we do hold the cup since if we didn't we'd all wear the contents.
She still gets 3-4 bottles of formula a day. 6 oz each. It is to make sure she gets her proper nutrition especially on the days she wants to be a picky eater. After each bottle she gets water. Before bed she will get her teeth flossed and brushed.
She has 13 teeth right now and is still in the process of cutting the last three canines. They are being really rough with just points up. Today she has a low grade fever of 100.1 so Tylenol was given to help with pain and fever.
Eily early this morning. I'm trying to tame her locks with a barrette.

Orange
My pee since last night has been coming out orange. I know exactly why too. It was the four potassium tablets that they gave me in the Emergency Department last night. Why was I there? I'll fill you in.
Saturday J and I went to a birthday party for a one year old at 1400 hrs. 1900 hrs we attended a baby shower for a friend. Within 24 hours of those outings, hey I try to stay away from public as I DON'T WANT TO GET SICK, we were both vomiting and had diarrhea.
Even the zofran wouldn't keep it down. J was able to eat and drink a bit yesterday. I couldn't eat or drink. I ended up dehydrated and in the emergency department with an IV in my arm. I was tachycardic with edema in my legs. I've had the edema in the legs for years but my PCM chooses to ignore rather than address the issue any time I've brought it up in the past or so I told the cardiac doc attending to me. The cardiac doctor asked me if I might have congestive heart failure. Warning bells went off in my head. He asked me if I had been to the cath lab yet. Yikes! My father has congestive heart failure.
The doctors attending to me asked a plethora of questions that neither J nor I could answer fully as we were both exhausted. Before I reached the ED yes I was running a fever of 100.8. Yes I had been vomiting and yes it had changed from the normal vomit color to red to brown because we know I have stomach ulcer issues.
My reason for going to the ED was because I was worried about the sickness affecting the baby. The fever alone was reason enough to go in my book. They couldn't find their fetal tones monitor so they opted to do an ultrasound. J missed the last two ultrasounds so he was literally agape and gasped when he saw how much the baby had changed. He was totally amused with the nice spine curve that he got to see. Yes the tech could tell the sex but wouldn't tell us when she saw the rump because she isn't allowed to tell. But she did hover it there long enough that if we knew what we were looking at, the screen was at a really bad angle for me we could have had our guess.
After three blood draws the doctor came back with potassium tablets. That jogged my memory when they mentioned it. I have hypokalemia I told him and I often forget I have it because I take potassium supplements daily with my vitamins. He said that yes the potassium was extremely low.
Sighs...I'm going to be okay. I'm eating today. Just half a bagel with some watered down juice to see if I can keep it down.
I have a follow up appointment at OB on Friday.
I told J he can tell them at work that I won't be making cookies for them this week. Not as punishment for getting me sick, if it was someone at work that he picked it up from, but because I was told 3-4 days before I'll be feeling up to doing anything like that. I agree. I feel like a wet rag rung out to dry.
Oh and this wasn't the flu. There is a bad, can you believe this, COLD that is going around that cause nausea and vomiting. I had my flu shot in September and this years seems to have been the strain they needed to cover the flu bug. But seriously a cold that causes flu like symptoms? This is just crazy!!!

The RE Office Doesn't Care
Honestly I've known for a while that the military RE office doesn't care. If they can't throw clomid at the victim and knock them up within 3 cycles then they basically write you off. Well okay they'll keep you if you've got the money for up to two rounds of IVF but that is it. I was going to be let go from the clinic after the second IVF failed. See they don't let you do three IVFs here even if you are the one paying for it all.
I'm sick of this nonsense.
Last night I called the IVF nurse coordinator who also coordinates the donor eggs. She finally called me back at 0852 hrs. So much for the first call of the day at 0730 hrs.
She said they won't do another ultrasound. I kind of figured they wouldn't I told her.
She said they'd need a urine sample to check for a bladder infection. I told her it isn't my bladder. I've had a bladder infection before and I remember well what that feels like. I explained to her it hurts to get into the squat position to pee and the muscles spasm after causing a lot of pain making my body not want to pee for fear of pain.
She said 100 is not a fever. She said I am most probably just ovulating. She said they don't go by temperatures any longer as they aren't accurate. Really? I said to her that I still have all my old temperature charts and never was it 100 and if she'd like to see them I'm more than willing to bring them in for her.
I said to her so what you are saying is that you aren't worried about this. She said, "no". I said okay then whatever. Yes I did say whatever.
When I said the whatever she said she could run it by Dr.C. later today and see what he thinks. So in that time where she should have been getting back to me first thing in the morning she wasn't even asking the doctor's opinion. Great!
What I'm wondering is where is Lt.Col. B. Today is the day he is at the clinic. He does research on endometriosis and only has clinic hours one day a week...THURSDAYS. So why wouldn't he be able to answer the questions I have?
Wait I think I did already say that the RE office didn't care right?
I'm guessing that I should have done what my spouse suggested last night, we were both in our pajamas and I didn't want him to have to change, and go directly to the ER. I figured that with it being Thursday the next day that Lt.Col.B. would be the one to handle this. He is truly the only one there right now that actually cares. He insisted that the clinic push forward without orders in hand from PNW to start the testing now.
J is pissed. I'm upset. Oh and because I'm still supposed to do timed intercourse this week I'm supposed to have sex tonight because the pain I'm feeling, according to the nurse, is just ovulation pain. This is not ovulation pain!
Happy Valentine's Day to all that celebrate. I'll be celebrating with a hot rice bag from bed.
