Calendar Has Arrived

I've been in touch with PNW.

  1. We got our first choice donor.
  2. They freeze only top grade blastocysts.  No I don't know the grading system they use.  Probably AA is my guess
  3. We'll get a picture of the  blastocysts when we transfer them.
Right now I'm trying to get a paper notarized so that I can get the blastocysts thawed and transferred.  Since we are signing this document outside of their clinic we have to go to JAG here to get it witnessed.  No big deal unless you are dealing with a spouse with a really busy schedule.

Yay! Back from JAG.  Hard to believe we were able to get it done today.  Fingers crossed the rest of the cycle goes this smoothly.

So here is where J and I stand with the schedule.  I'll have to remember to bring with me to the marriage retreat, which is the 5th-7th of April, a sharps container and a couple of  cold packs for the lupron.  I'll have to draw it up into the syringe before we leave so that I have to bring on the one needle and not worry about not being able to refrigerate the whole bottle.  Maybe I'll bring a small cooler lunch bag to put it all in so that it stays cool longer since I'll be away for a few days.  Hoping that they have a fridge in the room.

  1. Does your clinic use Lupron with FET cycles? I've heard that some do, but ours didn't. I'm sure they do, but we may not have been using that particular protocol. At least Lupron is one of the easier injections, especially in comparison to the progesterone-in-oil! I have nothing but high hopes for this cycle for you, Rebecca! =)

    1. PIO shots are done in the last week of the calendar. I'll be doing most of those myself. Yes, they are doing Lupron with our FET.

    2. You must be a super woman to give the PIO to yourself. I "shot myself up" with all of the other drugs at least once, but could never muster up the courage to do the PIO. I was a weenie! =D

  2. Hmmm I didn't have to keep Lupron cold throughout the cycle. I did have to keep the Menopur and the Gonal f in the fridge before using them (but not once they were opened).

    Either way, this is exciting!

    1. Last two IVFs I was told to put the lupron in the fridge. I was assuming I'd have to do the same this time too.

    2. I had to keep my Lupron cool as well.

  3. It is interesting how different clinics are with protocols and medications. I guess it doesn't matter as long as it works!

    Good luck :)

    1. Hopeful it does work. 90% on their thaw rate and 79% for pregnancies.

    1. Exciting but it can be frustrating too because I can't make the time go by any faster.

  5. You don't have to fridge the Lupron if you don't want to. It isn't to preserve the drugs effectiveness, it is just a precautionary measure because it is a multi-use vial. If you swab the bottle every time w a alcohol wipe, it will be fine. (this was told to me by the nurses at my clinic, I asked because I had never had to refrigerate it before).

Best of luck!!! Those are some pretty excellent success rates :)
