Parking Problems

I'm annoyed to say the least.  I'll be polite as I'm practicing to be a better human around my newborn.

I'm entitled to two parking spots as a tenant in the apartment in which I live.  One is designated with my apartment number under the canopy the other is with the three available slots in front of the building.  Since I at present have but one car I don't make too much of a fuss about the second slot disappearing on a regular basis.  But that will soon change when I have a second vehicle in this household and that will be soon; probably before the end of the year.

Today I left for my mid-morning walk with Little E and my spot under the canopy was vacant as my husband had taken the car to work.  I pulled in the trash and recycling bins from the road and went on my merry way.

When I got back I found differently.  In my spot was a jeep with mats under it of which belong to my neighbor that already takes up two additional spots to his one designated spot under the canopy.  He and his spouse have three vehicles.  There is plenty of over flow parking available.

We have asked our neighbors, nicely, several time to allow us a spot in the front and our designated one under the carport.  I know that Randy did not ask my spouse for parking privileges as my spouse cannot be reached by phone right now.  Though I wished he could be reached so I could warn him to hold his temper in check when he gets home for lunch.

In other news, Little E is now 16 weeks old.  Oh my has she grown.  I'll know just how much on the official numbers this Friday.

Just How Small Is Your Penis?

Seriously my neighbor must have the world's smallest penis with the way he acts.
If my neighbor isn't racing up and down the street with a "hey look at me" attitude while revving his engine, of which I hope soon blows up, then he is blaring his awful musical choices while washing his car.  His car of which he treats better than his pregnant wife and less than a year old son.

What is this man trying to prove?

I already know he is a dick.

He already got three days in the barracks cooling off time for domestic abuse earlier this year.

Someone needs to remind this person that he doesn't need the attention he is trying to attract.  As a matter of fact, it is my opinion of which it should be my opinion since it is my blog, that this man should be giving attention to his very pregnant wife and young son.

YAY! It's Friday!

Finally at last!

Now maybe I can get some time with my husband without him worrying about class.  Well okay now he'll probably worry about the board instead.

In other news I had a neighbor over for three hours yesterday and we talked about everything!  We even juiced together.

I found out I have a blue aura.  Hey if anyone knows more about that let me know.  I mean I did look it up and all but I do like to have more knowledge on the subject.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Neighborhood Changes

By the beginning of Autumn I thought most of the military moves were finished on my street.  Usually the Army tries to move families April through September if possible.

In just the past six weeks we have had three houses empty and two fill up with the neighbor just to the right of us moving out this week making it now four moves.

Watching the Bs move is rather funny.  Perhaps I should go outside with a mug of hot cocoa and direct them on how to pack the truck better.  Why on earth they are deciding to do a DITY move I don't know.  The Penske truck is loaded all awkward with things falling over in it and the female adult has already screamed as things fell on her.  Nothing heavy mind you but still enough to frighten anyone that is unsuspecting.  They decided to add on a car carrier and loaded up the pickup onto the carrier first before loading the moving truck.  Well that was really smart.

Hmm...wonders if they thought about backing the Penske up into the driveway with the garage door open and loading stuff in that way rather than crossing the street for every box and mattress?

I think one of them is sharing the single brain cell.  Perhaps their two year old has it today because he seems to be enjoying the moving sport.

Three days now the truck has been there.  The idea of a DITY move is to pack up the household before you get the truck there so you can save on the daily rental fees.  I've done enough DITY moves and I'm getting too old to do any more with my bad back.  Maybe if I were twenty years younger I'd think about it but not now.

Mind you my neighbor is now 22,  married just three years with a child that is 27 months old.  Lucky wench got pregnant right after her husband got back from his deployment.  I went to her baby shower as she gave me an invite and a listing of her registry.   Sniffs...would have been nice if she would have sent out or hand delivered a thank you card for the gifts I gave her.

Hoping that who ever moves in is quiet, clean, neighborly.

Ashamed and Annoyed

I am really ashamed at where I live.  My neighborhood is going to pot.  I mean a piss pot at that.

Today I called again about the abandoned house next to me.  Nothing has been done.  Nothing will be done either as long as the tenant keeps paying for the satellite dish and their rent.  Its disgusting how its been left.  Equity told me today that they can't give me any information about the place.  I stated quite firmly that I didn't request information about the place but that I am reporting that it has been abandoned.  They don't care as long as they get their money.

It was so much better when the Army owned the housing on the installation.  They only own the land the housing is on.  Its really irking me at how the tenants think that they can just get away with everything.

I spoke with Tianana at Equity this morning.  I complained about the neighborhood violations.  She laughed.  Nice how she thought it was so funny that our neighbors leave their trash and recycling cans out on the sidewalk for 5 days past the pick up date.  She asked me for house numbers.  I gave her two right off.  All I had to do was look to my left to see the ones that are doing it every week.  This place is looking like the slums.

If you are going to live in a house with a lawn you need to take care of your rental.  I'm sorry but I don't want to see your trash out on the sidewalk and watch you drive up and just ignore it.  Really does it take that much effort for you to wheel your trash cans up to your house?  If you wheeled them down there I'm sure you can bring them back up.

I don't want to see you walking your dog off its leash and letting it shit on the sidewalk and walking away without picking it up.

I don't want to see you driving 40 in a 20 mph zone.  Yes, even the buses violate the speed zone.

I don't want to see you working on your vehicle, or friend's vehicle in your garage with the door open or in the driveway letting all those toxic chemicals spill down in the drain way to get washed into the storm drain.

If you drop your paper, can, bottle, wrapper, or food container  pick it up.  Don't leave it there for the raccoons and crows to chew on.

I think my neighborhood needs some major extermination of the violators.  I'm so sick and tired of following the rules that I signed off on only to have my neighbors decide to not follow them.  You've been warned.  I'm turning all of you in.  I tried to live with a cohesiveness and happy go lucky but not anymore.  I see it, I report it.  The housing office is going to have to get off their butts and start ticketing the offenders if the neighborhood is going to listen.

You can't be the wishy wash parent that only applies the rules when you want to.  You have to be the firm parent that keeps the rules enforced

Another Neighbor Leaves

Today I hugged another neighbor good bye. He is leaving for Korea soon.  Hopefully he'll get the chance to stop by and see my husband, a gaming friend, before he leaves the country.

My friend is leaving the neighborhood not because he is just going out of country but because his wife has left him.  Seems to be a common problem in the military.  He deserves better.  She was not the nicest of people and treated her husband poorly in public.  Its not often that we hear about the wife mentally abusing the husband but it does happen.

So for the past two days I've been trying to help the guy out as much as possible.  For me its not a lot since I can't lift anything more than a stone's weight.  What I was able to offer was the use of my trash cans and recycling bins so that he wouldn't get fined for that particular item.. He still got fined $107 for various things like not washing out the trash cans, having the wrong brand of blind in a window and the floors, even though mopped, weren't perfect.

At least he isn't being fined for having flowers still in the flower beds.  I was told by our neighborhood manager that we had to have our flower beds cleared of all plants.  So I'm happy to note that I might be able to get away with leaving some plants behind when we move out some day.  Unless of course the rules change again.

My former neighbor and I were discussing the ruined yards.  There is just no way that grass will come back this season with all the construction.  I still have a trench in my back yard that they've promised to have filled in by the 20th of this month.  We'll see.  Its been there since Easter Monday.

Tuesday 31 May I'll not have power for a good portion of the day.  If only I knew which portion.  I was given notice that they would need to enter my house to shut the power off at the breaker box, as if I couldn't hit the breaker switch myself, to change out the utility lines in the trench.  Scratches head, if they are filling in the trench on the 20th then why are they changing out the lines on the 31st?  Okay that math just doesn't work for me.

No See, No Hear, No Speak...A RANT

There are days I want to be like one or all of the chimps and just not know.   Of late its been all three.

I live on Post.  I follow the rules and regulations.  Why can't the others around me?  My husband and I must be perfect or something because we don't break the regs. as far as I know.

I don't call in those who violate policies on this post unless they are really annoying or are a hazard to themselves or the community.  But tell me how hard is it to follow the rules?

I don't want to see you letting your dog poop on my lawn or pee on it.  This is my front yard, we mow it, we seed it, we fertilize it and I don't want your dog excrement on my lawn.

In effect this month is the twenty-four hour rule of the trash and recycling bins.  If you don't get your trash can off the side walk or out of the road within the alloted time of twenty-four hours you will be cited.  I find it extremely annoying that folks are just too lazy to move their bins.  I have to walk on those side walks as do the children going to and coming home from school.  MOVE YOUR BINS!

Those of you that refuse to park your vehicle in your garage are also in violation of housing codes.  Your garage is meant to house your vehicle.  If your vehicle is too large for your garage have the decency to at least park it in your drive way.  Some of us would like to be able to back out of our own driveways without hitting your guests vehicles or your vehicle. Blocking a resident's driveway is just WRONG.  I've had that happen a few times in the almost two years of living here.  My driveway is not your turn around point for your vehicle.  Just today, with my garage door open, I had some grey suv pull right up my driveway and almost into my garage.  I thought she would park there but no she was just turning around.  If you have to turn around you don't need to use my whole driveway.  Some folks need to go back through drivers education.   I've even found strange vehicles parked in my driveway.  My house is obviously lived in, I have flowers out front, a name placard, and a leaky cauldron sign so what were they thinking? A few of my friends, in some post housing areas, don't even have driveways or garages.  I really feel for them.  Parking is first come, first serve in their areas.

If you see a No Parking Zone sign it means just that, Don't Park There.  Unless you are an emergency vehicle you have no business being on that side of the street.  The loop going around the hospital here on post is becoming difficult to navigate with all the illegally parked vehicles.  There is adequate parking for the staff in the staff parking lot.  If you can't find a spot you should consider carpooling as it would benefit the environment and cause less accidents for those of us that do live in the area.

Pay Day weekends are just too noisy here in the community.  I don't want to hear your guests outside on your front area or even the backyard for that matter at 0200hrs yelling, barfing, hooting, hollaring, or arguing.  Put a cork in it already. Some of us want to sleep.  You can talk all you want outside just remember that you don't have the right to shout.  Speak at a normal inside voice volume during the hours of 2200- 0700hrs if you are going to be outside.  Oh and don't give me that crap about being in your own home, if you have those windows open and are making loud noises its pretty much the same as being outside as I can still hear you very easily.  Have some curtsy.

I don't want to hear your car stereo blasting before 0700hrs or after 2200hrs nor am I supposed to tolerate it.  There are regulations about noise on this military installation.  If you want to yell, blast your stereo or make any other loud noise between those hours GO SOME WHERE ELSE!  Off -Post would be nice.

Those of you that are military should remember that you are responsible for your dependents and your guests.  If they violate the policies here on post you are the one that will get in trouble when your chain of command finds out.  Set an example.  If you want to party on post you can do so but follow the rules and your neighbors will enjoy their own free time too. If you want to be a jerk with your party you ruin the free time for the soldiers in your neighborhood.  We will turn you in.

If you park in my driveway without my permission or block my driveway without my permission I will have you towed.

If you let your animals ruin my lawn of which we have worked so hard on, I will take a photo of you, find out who you are and turn you in.

If you can live by the regulations set forth for all residents here on post we will be great neighbors.  I'm not a bitch.  I'm just tired of you violating my rights for peace and quiet during the structured hours.  I'm just tired of you not respecting my residence.  I'm really sick and tired of you violating the policies on our military installation that were put there to protect us all from idiots like you.

If you don't like having to live by the regulations then move off post.  There are plenty of places off post you can dwell.  Oh and take your guests with you when you do leave as I don't want them left behind.
