Finding Reasons

Today I'm trying to find reasons why things happen like they do.

First off, why the heck is my insurance so cheap as to only cover the Alora patches.  These things suck when trying to apply them.  Oh and they like to peel up.  They like to pucker up and not in a good way like a kiss.  No they pinch the skin.

I'm trying to figure out why I can't sleep and then sleep too much.  I'm hazarding a guess that it is the hormones.

I'm trying to figure out a reason why after flooding my body with water yesterday I still didn't get that 1.2 pounds back off.

If any one can find a reason why I gained when I've been exercising and cutting back calories and drinking nearly a gallon of water a day and still can't get the weight off, let me know?

Yes, I'm cranky!

  1. Don't panic about the weight. If you took in more sodium one day, you are definitely doing the right thing by drinking your water and lots of it. The bloating can take a few days to come back down. However, I also know you are taking Lupron and doing the estrogen thing and that is going to make it even harder. I bet as soon as you get to stop the meds, you will have a HUGE drop. That is what happened to me last time. I just started the Lupron injections myself, so I am almost right there with you. Keep up the good work and it will happen!

  2. Hi from ICLW! Your weight will fluctuate depending on the time of the day, your salt intake, and where in your cycle you are. Medications can also make you gain weight. What kinds of exercises are you doing? And how many calories a day are you eating? It is very possible that you are losing weight, but at the same time, gaining it back in muscle. Since I started working out in December, I have lost 7 pounds of fat, but gained over 5 in muscle, so I've almost evened out. Either way, you should notice a difference in how you feel and possibly in how some clothing fits. Just know that it's unfortunately not an instant result.

  3. I had a hard time getting my weight to start moving in the right direction. I had to almost "shock" my body to get it to start. I would have greek yogurt for breakfast (or high fiber cereal if I had the time) Then I made sure to have lots of greens. A big salad for lunch with 4oz of lean protein like chicken or fish or beans. I would eat all the fruit I wanted and the more veggies the better. Then for dinner I would do the same thing. A big salad and 4 oz of lean protein. I tried to stick with berries when eating fruit. I know it sounds boring but it gave me a good start and kicked my body to start doing what I wanted it to do then I gradually added in a bit more carbs to keep me full. Just make sure that you are eating atleast 25-30 grams of fiber a day and it will keep you full.

  4. I'm blaming hormones. For like everything.

  5. You're unable to lose the weight because your body is preparing for pregnancy. It's a good thing! Just think of your plush, lining and the fat stores waiting to go to good use. (at least that's what I tell myself ;)

The wonders of insurance boggle the mind. My insurance doesn't cover the estrogen patches, but it covers everything else. They won't cover them because they have the erroneous opinion that it is HRT, and they don't cover that. Our former insurance covered everything.

I'm cranky too. It is soooo cold here in New England still. By now we should be able to shut off the heat and open the windows, but it is still going down below freezing at night, and I am still wearing a winter coat during the day! I want to clean up the house and get out in the garden but it is too cold, and that is making me a grumpy pants.
